Some video-lectures on differentability for real valued functions
The following Links contain a series of 50 minutes long video Lectures on the topic of real-valued differential functions, for an old course (2014) of mine at another university, having non-empty intersection with this course. You probably have seen the material in previous courses, but I leave these videos as a possible support:
- Definition of differentiability and examples (Covering sections 5.1 in the coursebook)
- Differentiability and continuity, properties of the derivative and statement of the Chain rule (Covering sections 5.2 to 5.5 in the coursebook)
- Proof of the Chain Rule, differentiability of inverse of a monotonic functions. Local extrema test and Rolle's theorem.
- Consequences of Rolle's theorem: The Mean Value Theorem (two versions) and applications (The last two links cover sections 5.5 to 5.11 in the coursebook)
- Higher order derivatives. Second test for extremal points. L'Hopital's theorem (Covering material of 5.11 to 5.15)
