    Course contents:

    Day 1:

    Time slot 1: Lecture: Introduction to the concept of networks

    Time slot 2: Lecture: Contact patterns and disease transmission

    Day 2:

    Time slot 3: Lecture: Mobility networks and spatial disease transmission

    Time slot 4: Practical on the use and analysis of mobility data

    Time slot 5: Lecture: Modelling of sexual networks, HIV and STI transmission dynamics

    Time slot 6: Practical on analysing contact data, dynamic networks

    Day 3:

    Time slot 7: Lecture: Metapopulation models

    Time slot 8: Practical on modeling spatial transmission

    Time slot 9: Applications for public health: case studies

    Time slot 10: Applications for public health: case studies

    General prerequisites

    It is expected that course participants have basic knowledge of statistics and mathematics and rudimentary knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology. It is also expected that participants have basic computer software knowledge and preferably are familiar with the software R. 

    IMPORTANT: All participants are expected to bring a laptop with R installed on it.
